Position Summary

Serves as the supervisor at the WS&G Sand Creek site (Ashland, NE) to engage in related work as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
  • Serves as the supervisor in the field to exercise technical and functional supervision over the operators at the assigned site.
  • Monitors crew performance and behaviors in the field and reports work progress, challenges, incidents and accidents, and employee conduct and performance to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Communicates supervisor expectations to work crew regarding work practices and procedures, safety, and compliance with the company’s policies.
  • Sets an example to crew members in following Company policies and safety regulations, and in maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and company leadership.
  • Evaluates work procedures and processes and ensures that safe work practices are being followed by crew members under his/her lead. Follows all safety policies and procedures and holds safety meetings with crew members.
  • Recommends improvements and repairs to be made to equipment.
  • Evaluates work requirements and determines work schedule.
  • Ensures safe and efficient operation of the plant through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the plant.
  • Assists in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Operates equipment based on production schedules to assure appropriate sequence of operations.
  • Keeps site facilities clean and safe for efficient operation.
  • Inspects equipment before and during use.
  • Trains employees on proper operation of equipment.
  • Attends and participates in required trainings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school education or GED; and
  • 3 years previous work-related experience; or
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Driver’s License
Skills And Abilities
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to operate with minimal supervision and take initiative to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Requires knowledge and use of skills and abilities related to leading a crew of workers including the ability to build a cohesive team to accomplish goals, listen to input provided by crew members and respond appropriately, and communicate information in ways that build trust and support.
  • Able to effectively communicate with others and give oral and written instructions. Required to clearly write reports with correct use of language.
  • Must be able to lift &/or move up to 50 pounds.
