Located in the Sand Hills of Nebraska, Dismal River Club, , is well known for its two world-class golf courses and 5-star facilities: fishing ponds, kayaking, long-range shooting, five stand clays, river run shooting clay course, pistol range, pheasant/buffalo hunts, pool, and spa. The 27,000 sq/ft clubhouse includes a full bar and restaurant where guests can enjoy our Dismal River beef and other delicious entrees.

Compensation is $19-21/hr based on experience. One meal is provided per shift. Unlimited golf privileges (with supervisor permission).

Status:
Full-time available. Seasonal or Year-Round options.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment. Assists the Superintendent with planning and implementing budget and operating plans. Hires, trains, and supervises staff. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping and horticultural principles to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of the annual maintenance budget and operating plan. Implement the plan according to company policies to ensure cost containment.
  • Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure quality standards are achieved at minimum employee cost.
  • Supervise and perform various maintenance duties to maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to company standards.
  • Supervise the development and maintenance of drainage, irrigation, pumping, and water reservoir systems.
  • Supervise all planting, fertilizing, and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees on the golf course and grounds. Assist with fertilizer, aeration, and Integrated Pest Management programs.
  • Supervise course construction projects.
  • Supervise equipment maintenance and repair operations. Establish and implement a cleaning and preventative maintenance program for equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Ensure maintenance of all quality and cleanliness standards, including employee hygiene, uniforms, and storage areas.
  • Monitor the purchase, ordering, and receiving of supplies to maintain proper inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to chemical and fertilizer storage, disposal, employee safety, and public safety.
  • Manage employment activities for staff, including recruitment, performance evaluations, training, compensation, discipline, and termination.
  • Maintain accurate records of department activities and ensure timely submission of operational, financial, and budget reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry developments through continuous education and participation in trade associations.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of golf course maintenance, supervisory, and/or management experience.
  • Experience in budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, and staff management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, handle multiple duties under pressure, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance.
