LocationWakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. It is a flex plant that produces a wide range of egg products, including whole pasteurized eggs, liquid, dried, hard‑boiled, and curds.
Responsibilities- Lead and train new hires and existing team members, supporting ongoing development when new equipment or processes are introduced.
- Coordinate workflow by assigning daily tasks to department personnel to ensure smooth operations and meet production goals.
- Champion safety and compliance by conducting safety audits, reinforcing safety as a core value, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company standards.
- Maintain quality standards by monitoring production lines and equipment to ensure consistent product quality, promptly addressing discrepancies, and escalating issues as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement by encouraging team feedback to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Maintain operational excellence by keeping accurate records, completing daily reports, and managing SAP entries and documentation.
- Oversee equipment by reporting maintenance needs and assisting with troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration by building working relationships across departments to support company objectives.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed, follow SOPs, and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
- Previous forklift and/or pallet jack experience desired.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs.
- Problem‑solving skills: solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Interpretation skills: understand written, oral, and diagrammatic or schedule instructions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team‑building skills; able to direct, train and motivate department personnel.
- Problem recognition: investigate and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
- Positive interpersonal relationships and effective teamwork.
- Independent work and team collaboration as required.
- Self‑motivation and willingness to seek direction.
- Responsible behavior at work.
- Openness to change.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift and pallet jack license.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.
