Position Summary
Operates straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks or railcars and provide other support/mechanical facility work. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

  • Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
  • Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk.
  • Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
  • Provide repairs and support services for a gravel pit operation by doing general labor work, mechanical work, rebuilding pumps and various maintenance work that may be required.
  • Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Assures safe operation of equipment.
  • Position Requirements and Education

    • High School Diploma or GED; and
    • Previous experience with heavy equipment and/or manual labor on plant equipment, or
    • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to occasionally lift/move between 25-70 pounds.
