• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrate nursing principles and apply age- and population-specific standards related to residents' physical and psychosocial needs as per care plans.
• Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide needed care.
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations.
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents; assess residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
• Work as a member of an interdisciplinary care team; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a supervisor.
• Contribute to resident education to support self-care programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If IV therapy/management skills are required, meet North Dakota requirements as specified (board-approved program or approved IV course).
• Have attended a pre-licensure nursing program with clinical experience across the life span or have a minimum of 400 hours of LPN experience at another facility. Additional education or experience may apply by service/position.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges; maintain required department competencies and certifications; complete annual CEUs and competency training.
