Location: Waverly
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care
Shift: Night Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting during the overnight shift. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents while delivering high-quality, compassionate care in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to long-term care residents during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and in accordance with scope of practice
- Monitor residents' conditions and report changes to the RN or physician promptly
- Perform routine assessments, vital signs, and charting accurately and timely
- Respond to resident needs, emergencies, and call lights during night shift
- Provide wound care, catheter care, and other skilled nursing procedures as assigned
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers during overnight hours
- Supervise and support nursing assistants (STNAs/CNAs) as assigned
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic or paper medical record
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to residents and families
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions overnight
- Overnight schedule in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- Requires standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents as needed
- May involve exposure to infectious diseases and emergency situations
