POSITION TITLE: Laboratory Technician (full-time, exempt, salary position)
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Macy, Santee, or South Sioux City Campuses

STARTING SALARY: $45,000 to $55,000, depending on qualifications
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the applied sciences, with a passion for research, laboratory work, and data analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with blooming, new research initiatives in a collaborative and supportive environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments. Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and experiments in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Accurately record and document experimental data and results.
- Ensure that all laboratory operations comply with safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze data and contribute to research findings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Prepare and manage laboratory supplies, materials, and inventory.
- Assist with the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a science discipline; master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment handling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and laboratory best practices.
- Ability to incorporate indigenous values and knowledge into experimental designs and research dissemination.
