Start 2023 out with a great opportunity working part-time for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture
, which has collected data on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) for 50 years.
CUSTOMER service experience, a sales background, or farming knowledge, along with time management skills, self-motivation and attention to detail are helpful for interviewing operations (in-person and by telephone) to gather information from livestock and crop entities of all sizes. Projects may include Farm and Ranch Resource Management this winter/spring, a study of farm activity on selected acres in the summer and doing crop counts in corn and soybean fields in the fall.
Responsibilities- Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed
- Conduct agricultural interviews and set up sample field plots as part of field enumeration work
- Work from home and/or in your local area on a variety of assignments
- Represent NASDA in interviewing operations (in-person and by telephone) to gather information from livestock and crop entities
- Customer service experience, a sales background, or farming knowledge are helpful
- Strong time management, self-motivation and attention to detail
- Requirements: a valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, knowledge of computers or iPads, and passing a background check
- Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
- Able to walk unassisted on uneven ground up to 100 yards
- Able to travel up to 250 miles on a quarterly basis for training
- Hourly wage starts at $17.84+ per hour, supplies provided and mileage reimbursement
- Continued training provided for all assignments
- Looking for a part-time field enumerator for the Nebraska Panhandle area
