CDL Crane Operator

TNT is looking to add experienced full-time CDL crane operators to our growing branch. The following are the requirements; you must meet all of them to be considered for this position.

Ensures safety first, along with safe lifting of the load, proper set‑up of crane, while maintaining customer focus. Follows all state and federal laws while operating motor vehicles and all safety and environmental policies while performing the job task.

• At the end of the shift review next day job assignments and have all necessary rigging and equipment ready before ending shift.
• Complete field ticket and turn it in to local branch office. If other chargeable equipment was utilized, accurately record it on the field ticket.
• Complete payroll book daily with hours worked; hours must be reported to the local branch office no later than 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
• If not on a job assignment, inform the supervisor and remain productive by inspecting, cleaning, and performing maintenance on equipment.
• Carry and answer phone/pagers promptly.
• Assist in training safe operation of a crane.
• Periodically review assigned crane and other model cranes’ service and operation manuals.
• Clean, inspect, and reorganize equipment in shop and yard; keep shop clean, wash rack and break room.
• Read, interpret, and calculate load percentage using crane owner’s load charts and operation manual.
• Program crane computer in proper set‑up mode and set up crane at location safely and professionally.
• Ensure signal person understands and performs proper hand signals before lifting the load.
• Apply proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
• Inspect crane, truck, and/or trailer, fill out vehicle inspection report before operating and turn it in to local branch office.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

• Current state issued commercial driver license (CDL).
• Current crane operating license (NCCCO).
• 3 or more years of operating hydraulic cranes.
• Ability to operate crane by viewing hand signals.

• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions and applicable safety regulations and to maintain records.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
