Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the design, planning, construction, safety and maintenance of building infrastructure or manufacturing/production equipment and systems. May be responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation and enhancement of machinery and mechanical equipment. Mechanical responsibilities may apply to equipment, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and / or HVAC. May manage coordination and modification of building space - space design standards, allocation, modifications, moves and expansion.

May conduct facility inspections and/or equipment condition assessments to determine necessary modifications, including repair work and replacements / capital improvements. Responsibilities include predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance facility and/or production reliability and infrastructure specific elements of quality system compliance. Documents and reports issues to provide and safe and reliable environment.

This position is part of the Chem Treat - Facilities/Production Equipment - TX Maintenance located in Nederland, TX and will be onsite.

• Day to day facilities maintenance and repair of machinery that keeps the plant operating Tote maintenance when required.
• Heavy lifting and respirator clearance required.
• Assist in specialized projects as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
• Capable of assisting Maintenance Manager with prioritizing shift workload and completing assigned tasks
• Coordinates with other departments and operational sites as needed to fulfill maintenance objectives
• Assists when vendors and contractors are onsite services
• Capable of ordering and obtaining quotes for materials
• Follows appropriate EHS procedures and policy
• Maintains communication with internal departments and maintenance supervision to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Performs all non-supervisory duties for all positions within the department, as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

The essential requirements of the job include:

• High school diploma. Trade licensing a plus
• Experience in plumbing, painting, carpentry, basic electrical principles, construction, forklift operation, and computer data entry a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic mathematics and common tools needed.
