SummaryThe Terminal Operator will be responsible for a variety of work assignments across the Nederland Terminal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Must be able to train, qualify and relieve as a rail operator, dockworker, bunker operator, “C” operator and perform maintenance duties as directed.
- Required to fill vacancies when qualified in multiple job classifications.
- Normally works a floating, rotating shift and the assigned shift is routinely subject to change.
- The employee is expected to work overtime and will be subject to call out.
- Must perform work assignments safely and effectively.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather and be able to climb stairs, ladders and gangways.
- Must be able to learn API and marine procedures regarding measurement and sampling.
- The described job duties are a framework in which work will be assigned. This description is not inclusive of all responsibilities or job assignments. This position will require extended off-hour duties at times.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in Process Operations Technology preferred.
- Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations and have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone/radio communications.
- Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Requires on-call availability at all hours.
- Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
- Driving, walking, and standing frequently.
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting.
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
