Position: Senior Accountant / Controller

Senior Accountant / Controller

We are seeking a detail‑driven, analytical, and proactive senior accountant/controller to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and contributes to process improvements. The senior accountant/controller will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Location:

hybrid – mostly remote, with 1‑2 days per week in Needham, MA headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
  • Assist with revenue recognition and expense allocations
  • Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts
Audit & Compliance
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies
  • Assist in developing and updating accounting procedures Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance accounting systems
    • Participate in or lead special projects as needed
    Required

    Skills & Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
    • Strong understanding of GAAP
    • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Quick Books, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics) and ADP (Workforce Now)
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, etc.)
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong organizational and time‑management skills

    Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 annual salary, plus incentive plan. Additional compensation:
    Annual Bonus.
