Senior Accountant / Controller
We are seeking a detail‑driven, analytical, and proactive senior accountant/controller to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and contributes to process improvements. The senior accountant/controller will play a key role in month‑end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.
Location:
hybrid – mostly remote, with 1‑2 days per week in Needham, MA headquarters.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
- Assist with revenue recognition and expense allocations
- Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations
- Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies
- Assist in developing and updating accounting procedures Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance accounting systems
- Participate in or lead special projects as needed
Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Quick Books, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics) and ADP (Workforce Now)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 annual salary, plus incentive plan. Additional compensation:
