About the Role
As Senior Director of Design & Advanced Development
, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary creative and engineering team responsible for developing groundbreaking ideas that define the future of our product portfolio. Key Responsibilities- Lead a global team focused on early-stage design and innovation, driving concept creation, visual storytelling, and exploratory prototyping.
- Inspire creativity and technical excellence across the organization by encouraging collaboration between design, engineering, research, and marketing teams.
- Develop and present forward-thinking design visions that connect emotionally with stakeholders and align with long-term business strategies.
- Promote a studio culture rooted in experimentation, hands‑on making, and bold, design‑led problem solving.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure new ideas balance creativity with manufacturability and commercial viability.
- Integrate insights from consumer research, emerging technologies, and industry trends to shape future product opportunities.
- Oversee the creation of high‑quality visual and functional prototypes that effectively communicate design intent and innovation potential.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and craftsmanship within the design organization.
- Represent design leadership across internal and external forums, inspiring others with a clear vision for innovation and excellence.
- A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering
, or a related discipline that combines technical expertise with creative vision. - 10+ years of experience in product design and development, ideally within high‑volume consumer goods or technology‑driven industries.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates concept‑to‑market impact, design storytelling, and successful commercialization.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring creative teams and developing top design talent.
- Hands‑on ability to visualize and communicate design intent through sketches, 3D models, and physical mock‑ups.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing methods such as injection molding, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Technical proficiency with Solid Works, Creo, Key Shot
, and Adobe Creative Suite
