Activities Assistant at Wingate Living

Overview

Wingate Living is a family‑owned senior living company with 30+ years of experience in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We offer a blend of healthcare and hospitality services across a full continuum of care.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage: $18–$21, depending on experience and schedule.

Benefits include 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance.

Schedule

Must work weekends:
Saturday 2 pm–7 pm;
Sunday 9 am–5 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an innovative daily program for residents.
  • Lead one‑on‑ones, small and large group activities according to the programming schedule.
  • Encourage and direct independent activity pursuits individually and in groups.
  • Support residents by recognizing the role of activity in overall care.
  • Apply knowledge of residents’ backgrounds, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, and cognitive capacities.
  • Communicate changes in residents’ condition or behavior to the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Plan, organize, and implement all residence activities.
  • Suggest ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program.
  • Maintain a professional, warm, and caring relationship with residents and families.
  • Coordinate transportation and escorts for residents to outside and community activities.
  • Assist with the monthly newsletter and/or weekly calendar.
  • Attend required ongoing training sessions and orientation.
  • Drive residents in van as needed.
  • Perform dual tasks and work independently.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues preferred.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate to and support elderly residents in a positive, efficient manner.
  • Show consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, maintain a positive attitude, and work well under pressure.
