Job DescriptionThe Director of Non-discrimination Initiatives serves as the College’s lead administrator, responsible for ensuring compliance with Title IX, Title VII, VAWA, the Clery Act, and other applicable laws. The Director provides leadership in advancing equity and inclusion through the prevention, response, and resolution of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct involving students, faculty, and staff.
As the Lead administrator, the Director oversees the Title IX program, manages institutional responses to reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment, maintains and updates policies and procedures, coordinates training and educational initiatives, and provides guidance to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and campus partners. The Director collaborates closely with Human Resources, Student Affairs, and Public Safety to ensure coordinated compliance.
As the ADA/504 Coordinator, the Director monitors the College’s compliance with state and federal accessibility laws, handles grievances related to accommodation processes, and works with Disability Services and HR on student and employee issues.
The Director also leads institutional Clery Act compliance efforts, including data collection and publication of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, and serves as a campus resource for accessibility and equity matters under Section 504 and the ADA.
Responsibilities are performed part‑time, in person/on‑campus, based in Needham, Massachusetts, and total 24 hours per week.
Normal Work Hours24 hours per week, part‑time. Monday—Friday.
Immediate SupervisorPresident. Other supervisors may include the Dean of Students and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Responsibilities- Serve as Title IX Coordinator, ensuring compliance with Title IX, Title VII, the Clery Act, VAWA, and related laws.
- Oversee and manage institutional responses to reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment.
- Maintain and update policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Coordinate training and education on Title IX and discrimination prevention; ensure compliance with annual training requirements.
- Provide oversight and support to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and other investigators.
- Collaborate with campus partners to ensure coordinated compliance and equitable practices.
- Oversee Clery Act compliance, including timely reporting and data publication.
- Serve as a resource for Section 504 and ADA compliance for students.
- Maintain accurate records, track trends, and prepare periodic reports for leadership.
- Provide guidance on emerging compliance issues and best practices in civil rights and Title IX administration.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree in higher education, public policy, or related field with equivalent compliance experience.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in Title IX, civil rights, or legal compliance roles, preferably in higher education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, VAWA, the Clery Act, Section 504, the ADA, and FERPA.
- Experience managing investigations and coordinating institutional responses to complaints of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated success developing or delivering compliance training, policies, or prevention programs.
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Title IX and civil rights compliance certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.
