Paralegal, Global Litigation & Compliance

We are seeking a paralegal with a strong litigation, regulatory, and compliance background to join our legal team in Needham, MA. The Senior Paralegal will be the operational hub for the litigation, regulatory, employment, and compliance functions, reporting to the SVP, Senior Associate General Counsel, Global Litigation and Compliance. They will work on a wide range of projects within the Legal Department and cross‑functionally with other business units.

Functions
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee matter logistics and manage information flow and reporting.
    • Proactively identify areas to maximize the team’s performance and drive efficiency.
    • Project manage special projects inside and outside the Legal Department.
    • Maintain team schedules and calendars.
    • Coordinate budgets, bill review, and RFPs.
    • Coordinate with outside counsel.
  • Litigation:
    • Support the company’s litigation matters and disputes, including product liability, subrogation, intellectual property, employment, and commercial litigation.
    • Track status of litigations and maintain case files.
    • Assist with discovery, including collecting and organizing documents for production, coordinating witness interviews and depositions, and working with e‑discovery vendors.
    • Assist with in‑house handling of certain litigation matters, preparing pleadings and other case documents.
    • Manage and maintain the litigation department’s legal hold system.
    • Respond to subpoenas.
    • Manage the company’s docket of subrogation matters with insurance adjusters and the claims administrator.
    • Manage pre‑litigation personal injury claims.
    • Respond to complaints from consumers, retailers, state attorneys general, and consumer groups (e.g., Better Business Bureau).
  • Regulatory:
    • Assist in reviewing product assets for safety and regulatory considerations.
    • Maintain global regulatory classification and pathway to market timelines for cross‑functional use.
  • Employment:
    • Manage and track responses to employment‑related document requests.
    • Collaborate with People & Culture on internal investigations, training initiatives, and employment‑related special projects.
    • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations.
    • Assist in preparing responses to audits and agency filings (e.g., EEOC, DOL) and other regulatory inquiries.
  • Compliance:
    • Track compliance‑related legal developments and assist with compliance initiatives.
    • Support compliance investigations.
    • Manage the company’s policy library and assist with updating policies.
    • Assist with compliance and other training managed by the legal department.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal at a law firm or in‑house legal department.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with consumer products and medical devices (plus).
  • Wide range of litigation experience, particularly in product liability, intellectual property, and commercial matters.
  • Experience with large, repeat litigation matters.
  • Experience with litigation processes such as legal hold software, matter management systems, and e‑discovery programs.
  • Experience with government and regulatory agencies such as the CPSC, EPA, and FTC.
  • Experience negotiating and handling personal injury and subrogation matters.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in time‑sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
