Services include Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services.

Position Summary

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Needham Campus. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN will be responsible for routine and emergency medical services in residential, group, and school programs.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Nursing required. Interest in working with school-aged children. This position requires alternating weekend coverage and some holidays. New grads are welcome to apply.

Essential Functions
  • Provide routine medical care to students
  • Provide emergency care to students if necessary
  • Administer medications to students at various times throughout the shift
  • Maintain medical records
  • Provide ongoing consultation to staff and attend required meetings
  • Ensure that first aid supplies are available in all necessary locations
  • Track and schedule medical, dental and lab appointments
  • Provide in-service training to staff
  • Communicate with parents/guardians/collaterals as needed
  • Support Nursing internships
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervision

Supervised by the Director of Nursing.
