Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.Support safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.Create a welcoming environment for customers and assist with product inquiries.Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
