Role Mission

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Specialist to lead and support safety initiatives, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety across all levels and locations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, hands-on experience in implementing safety programs, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate and lead safety meetings, training sessions, and safety drills.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and recommend safety equipment as needed.
  • Monitor and report on safety metrics and trends to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and certifications.
  • Stay current on safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on safe work practices.
Competencies
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Technician (OHST), preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsli>
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel required to Kurz sites in WI and IL, most will be single-day trips, but could include some multi-day trips.
