Senior Product Developer
• Georgia-Pacific Technical Center – Neenah, WI. Position in the Tissue, Towel and Napkin Product Development team supporting Retail and Away from Home businesses.
Location & Facility• Georgia‑Pacific Innovation Institute® in Neenah, WI. Fox Valley, WI, 5–10 minutes from Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, Green Bay.
What You Will Do- Collaborate with Product Development Strategist and other capabilities to develop product specifications that meet feasibility, desirability and viability objectives through designed experimentation.
- Translate market and consumer needs into product design, performance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Mitigate technical risk by designing and analyzing experiments, coordinating and conducting mill trials, and collecting consumer/market feedback on product designs.
- Develop Intellectual Property through creation of invention disclosures, patent applications and trade secrets by partnering with the Legal team.
- Solve complex problems by exercising critical thought and approaching data analysis and potential recommended paths forward with a creative and open‑minded approach.
- Provide technical advice on claims, data substantiation, and overall product points of view to business leaders and cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Paper Science, Material Science or Engineering.
- Five (5) or more years of product development experience in paper products.
- Experience working in an R&D environment, leading projects or experiments, product development activities, and scaling up to commercial feasibility.
- Willing and able to travel, general average of 25% based on business needs.
- Advanced Engineering Degree (M.S.) in Engineering, Paper Science, or related disciplines.
- Project management experience.
- Ten or more years of experience in paper products development – paper making and/or converting.
