Project Managers (PMs) are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. PMs lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams to plan and execute IT projects within a highly-matrixed organization in a large multi-national corporation.
- Business Outcome Focus: Ability to adapt project course as barriers arise and still achieve desired outcomes. Strong business acumen and stakeholder connection are essential.
- Initiative: Willingness to perform duties beyond traditional PM scope, viewing oneself as an entrepreneur managing their project like a small business.
- Communication: Proven ability to earn trust, motivate teams, set direction, resolve conflicts, and communicate clearly at all levels.
- Action Orientation: Ability to take effective action with incomplete information.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation plans in advance.
Technical
Skills:
- Experience managing IT infrastructure projects (e.g., Windows upgrades, network upgrades, Microsoft Lync rollout) and application projects (HR, finance, supply chain, marketing).
- Ability to challenge teams confidently and evaluate estimates critically.
- Experience with project management tools; CA Clarity preferred.
Project/Program
Experience:
- Managed IT projects with budgets ≥ $1 million.
- Experience managing IT programs ≥ $3 million preferred.
- Led teams of at least 10 full-time resources, including international teams with cultural sensitivity.
- Experience with agile methodologies is a plus.
Education & Certification:
- Four-year degree required; preference for IT-related degrees.
- PMI PMP certification is mandatory.
