Safety Coordinator

Implement and manage safety programs and procedures that will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrections.
  • Investigate injury reports and follow up to ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Maintain all required documentation for Oshkosh Corporation’s DOT program.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action if required.
  • Oversee safety‑related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Update management on the status of Oshkosh’s safety program through monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Strengthen and lead the company’s ergonomics program.
  • Coordinate the services of insurance carriers and outside consulting personnel.
  • Organize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh employees are provided with a safe workplace.
  • Work closely with our Health Services Manager on worker’s compensation concerns.
  • Maintain an active role on our Safety Implementation Team.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities and processes to insure safe design.
  • Develop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Internship experience.
Standout Qualifications
  • Work experience in industry.
  • Must be knowledgeable with applicable safety regulations.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must possess computer skills.

Pay Range: $50,400.00 – $77,200.00
