MGR - NURSING

Location

Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health – Horizon Health Corporation – inpatient psychiatric units (19 adult beds & intake team).

• Create, implement, and enforce clinical staffing plan for direct reports to ensure sufficient nursing personnel and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with hospital guidelines and nursing program goals.
• Support professional growth and development of nursing staff through training plans, education efforts, and evaluation.
• Monitor nursing personnel performance continuously and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and external agencies to ensure efficient discharge plans and accurate admission histories.
• Audit and review performance and documentation of direct reports for consistency and accuracy.
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against patient goals and regulatory standards.
• Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documentation and communication.
• Perform RN duties as needed or when staff shortages occur.
• Orient or mentor new nursing staff.
• Crisis prevention experience.
• Manage anger, fear, hostility, and violence of others.
• Manage stress appropriately.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills, above average organization skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and proficiency in applicable software applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required by this position.

• Active RN certification/License in the state of Wisconsin.
• Bachelor's Degree required;
  Master's Degree preferred.
• CPR Certification required.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in nursing management.
• Experience in an acute care mental health setting required.
