Job Overview

Hourly rate $28-34/hr with potential overtime, pay varies by experience and location. Open positions across the U.S. and Canada.

Ideal Background
  • Experience with heavy equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers, tractors); military heavy equipment (MRAP, HMEE, tanks); aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE)
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician focused on heavy equipment
  • Education in mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Replace electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Troubleshoot using operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, How Factory, and other resources
  • Perform unit condition inspections and reports
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
  • Adhere to Altec Safety practices and procedures
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships
  • Provide accurate information on required documents
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or state-approved equivalency
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to move objects up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling
  • High dexterity and tool policy compliance
  • Valid driver’s license and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Willingness to work overtime and advocate safety
