Overview
Here is a great opportunity to join our Fleet Maintenance department. The position will require performing maintenance on material handling equipment to include but not limited to: LP and electric lift trucks, assorted attachments, and other vehicles. Most work is performed in a modern, well-equipped shop; however, service calls to area facilities are common. The shift is 6am to 3:00pm, Mon-Thu, 6am to 2:30 Fri.
This hourly position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
$27 - $36 Hourly
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on fleet vehicles (trucks, trailers, forklifts, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet DOT and company standards.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as brakes, tires, suspension, and engines.
- Have experience/aptitude for repairs on engines, drive train, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Skilled in welding/metal fabrication.
- Understand electrical functions, testing, and troubleshooting with problem-solving and diagnostics abilities.
- Good communication skills with attention to detail to accurately document work performed and parts used.
- Applicant must provide their own good-quality general tools.
- Experience or education in related area(s).
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 60 lbs.
- Requires the ability to move freely and efficiently throughout the warehouse, including the ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, including reaching, twisting, and grasping.
- Must be able to work on foot for the entire shift, often over extended periods, and be capable of handling tasks at a sustained pace, including in fast-paced and high-volume periods.
- May require the use of various equipment, such as forklifts, overhead crane, and hand tools.
- Good visual acuity is required to read labels, signage, and scanners, as well as the ability to differentiate between colors. Adequate hearing is necessary for safety signals and communications within a potentially noisy environment.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse setting that can have fluctuating temperatures, dust, and varying noise levels.
- Must be able to wear required protective equipment and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
