Casual Custodian at School District

Position: Casual Custodian Role at School District 8
Join School District 8 - Kootenay Lake as a Casual Custodian for the  school year. This on-call position requires cleaning and maintenance skills to support various school facilities.

Qualified candidates will assist with cleaning services and minor repairs across multiple schools, accommodating user groups and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Successful applicants will join CUPE Local 748 Union, with a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check necessary. This role is ideal for those with custodial experience and a commitment to school cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform overall cleaning of assigned sites

• Operate equipment like vacuums and polishers

• Assist in securing the building after hours

• Move furniture and equipment for cleaning

• Respond promptly to custodial requests

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 education

• Custodial or maintenance experience preferred

• Understanding of safety and sanitation procedures

• Strong communication abilities

• Must adhere to district policies and procedures
