Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school located in Royston, on the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire border. The school supports children and young people aged 2-19 years with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD). The school provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, where every pupil is supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally, enabling them to reach their full potential.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join this dedicated team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for individuals with mainstream or SEND experience who are looking for a rewarding, long-term opportunity within a specialist setting. You will support pupils with a range of additional and complex needs. Due to the rural location of the school and potential off‑site activities, a full UK driving licence is essential.

• Support pupils with MLD/SLD in the classroom, one‑to‑one, and in small groups
• Assist teachers in delivering individualised learning programmes and structured daily routines
• Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and engagement
• Support behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive, calm learning environment
• Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

• Experience working with children or young people (school, childcare, or community settings)
• Patient, resilient, and compassionate, with a flexible and proactive approach
• Confident supporting pupils with additional or complex needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Holds a full UK driving licence
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
