1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

September 2026 – 12 months FTC

Contract Type:
Full-time, 5 days per week

Daily Rate: £80‑95 per day (dependent on experience)

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEND
• Support learning activities under the general supervision and direction of the teacher
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers
• May be required to undertake intimate/personal care duties, moving and handling, and support children with medical conditions and complex needs
• Support the use of ICT in learning activities

• Hold NVQ Level 2 or above qualifications (or equivalent) appropriate to the post
• Hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
• Have experience of working with or caring for children of the relevant age and in a relevant classroom/service environment
• Have knowledge of Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum
• Have experience of supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour
• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
• Provide details of the last two latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history
• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration
• Be willing to complete a face‑to‑face registration and satisfy several checks
