This specialist role combines high-quality SEND teaching and intervention with responsibility for the assessment and implementation of Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) across the College. As the designated assessor, you will play a critical role in ensuring learners receive fair and appropriate access arrangements in line with current JCQ regulations, enabling them to demonstrate their knowledge and skills without disadvantage.

Working with learners aged 16-18, apprentices and adults, you will use your expertise to assess need, remove barriers to learning and support learner achievement. Alongside delivering targeted interventions, you will work closely with curriculum teams, Additional Learning Support colleagues and the Exams team to ensure robust assessment processes, accurate documentation and effective implementation of approved arrangements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner with specialist assessment qualifications who is passionate about inclusion, learner success and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and professional practice.

  • Assess learners' barriers to learning and develop personalised support plans and intervention strategies.
  • Manage a caseload of learners with SEND and additional support needs, monitoring progress and reviewing outcomes.
  • Support learners to develop study skills, literacy, numeracy, communication, organisation and independent learning strategies.
