JOB SYNOPSIS:

Under the direction and supervision of the Outdoor Guest Services Supervisor, the Outdoor Guest Services Representative will provide support and teamwork to the Outdoor Guest Services Department.

As an Outdoor Guest Services Representative, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service and support to guests around Whitewater’s base area. You will be responsible for risk management around Whitewater’s base area, parking cars efficiently and safety, directing traffic flow, ensuring all lodges and walkways are shoveled and sanded, scanning tickets in the lift line, managing traffic in lift lines, clearing snow from roofs, filling out applicable log sheets, assisting with event set up and tear down, stocking fire wood, and assisting with Patrol Sweep.

You will be the front-line ambassador for the resort, ensuring that visitors have a memorable and enjoyable experience. The role is often the first point of contact for guests arriving at our resort or accessing the lifts; therefore, guest experience is at the forefront. Many aspects of this role contribute to a safe and friendly experience from the onset.

This role requires a passion for the outdoors and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role requires someone who is physically fit, enjoys manual labor, and is able to work long hours outdoors in a winter environment.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all guests receive outstanding service and assistance throughout their visit to the resort.
  • Parking cars, directing traffic, and assisting with stuck vehicles.
  • Shoveling and clearing snow from walk ways and around buildings.
  • Shoveling snow from roofs.
  • Scan tickets at lift lines and manage the traffic in lift lines.
  • Chop and stock fire wood.
  • Assist with event set up and tear down.
  • Fill out any applicable log books.
  • Sand walk ways and parking lots.
  • Drive tucks and Side by Sides when needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest concerns or complaints, addressing them promptly and professionally, or escalating to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Keep updated on current weather conditions, trail status, and any changes in resort policies to provide accurate and up-to-date information to guests.
  • Risk management and mitigation around the lodge and base area buildings.
  • Attend daily morning meetings to learn updates, address concerns, objectives for the day, and foster a positive working environment.
  • Assist in executing special events, competitions, and promotions within the resort.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador of Whitewater Mountain Resort.
  • Promote Whitewater’s safety culture.
  • Adhere to all Whitewater Mountain Resort’s and Department policies and procedures.

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS /

    EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Outdoor ski resort experience is an asset.
  • Class 4 drivers license is an asset.
  • Advanced skier / rider is considered an asset.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Be committed to ensuring the highest level of guest service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for winter sports and outdoor activities, especially skiing and snowboarding.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of the resort's layout, ski trails, and surrounding area is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills for ticket sales and record-keeping purposes.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to ski / ride advanced terrain.
  • Need to work weekends and holidays.
