Inclusion Support Teacher at Hume Elementary

Kootenay Lake School District #8 seeks an Inclusion Support Teacher to enhance the learning experiences of about 4,700 students. This position supports classroom teachers in implementing effective strategies for students with varying needs, particularly in the primary grades (K-3). The ideal candidate will collaborate with school staff, providing essential supports and promoting universal design in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing Universal Design for Learning strategies

• Collaborate with teachers on Individualized Education Plans

• Support literacy skill development in early grades

• Facilitate positive behavior support initiatives

• Aid in evaluating and enhancing student progress

Requirements:

• Valid BC certification from the BC-TRB

• Master’s or Diploma in Special Education

• Minimum 5 years teaching experience

• Completed Level B assessment courses

• Strong communication skills in a supportive setting
