This position entails working collaboratively with teachers and families to provide culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal students. You will empower learners by integrating Indigenous culture into the curriculum and helping them navigate their educational paths. A commitment to building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in implementing Aboriginal Education programming
• Offer trauma-informed support to students
• Promote understanding of Indigenous history and traditions
• Foster connections between schools and local Indigenous communities
• Maintain accurate documentation for program compliance
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Relevant diploma in Indigenous Education or equivalent experience
• In-depth understanding of local Indigenous cultural contexts
• Ability to work flexibly in varied educational settings
• Effective collaboration skills with diverse teams
