Mental Health Support Worker

Join our team as a casual Life Skills Support Worker at McKim Cottage in beautiful Nelson, B.C. This role focuses on helping adults with mental illness through direct care and support strategies.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team, you will provide essential rehabilitative services to individuals facing severe challenges. Your responsibilities will include supportive counseling, risk assessments, and crisis interventions. Additionally, you will collaborate in developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct care and supportive counseling

• Perform risk assessments and crisis interventions

• Coordinate and evaluate client treatment plans

• Participate in team clinical reviews and consultations

• Monitor clients and perform related duties as necessary

Requirements:

• Certification in Mental Health or Human Services

• Two years experience with mental illness or substance use

• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate

• Standard First Aid with CPR certification

• Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class
5)
