The Opportunity!
The Employee Benefits Account Executive services and maintains accounts while providing professional and prompt support to our clients, carrier representatives, vendor partners, and HUB colleagues. The AE also works independently, as well as cooperatively, with Producers and the entire client team to deliver all HUB services to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle. This role plays a key part in positively impacting customer satisfaction and will support the organic growth goals of the organization – whether through account rounding, cross-selling, or support in the development of new business.
A Day in the Life -
Manage and retain assigned book of benefits accounts; provide oversight and direction to other assigned team members
Be responsible for account retention that meets or exceeds annual goals
Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of HUB products and services when appropriate for the clients’ needs
Be knowledgeable of changes in the insurance industry; and regularly attend industry events, seminars, or conferences
Intervene to resolve escalated and/or complex service issues
Negotiate and advocate on clients’ behalf with insurance carrier representatives
Appropriately document transactions with clients and carrier representatives
Participate or assist in the new business process
Work independently, as well as delegate workflow to the service team
Review contracts, plan documents, and plan summaries for accuracy
Prepare benchmark reporting
Responsible for oversight of clients’ compliance needs
What you bring -
LLQP license is required
Strong analytical skills and a strong math aptitude.
A high level of initiative and independence and being able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Highly organized with an attention to detail.
A proven ability to work in a team environment with a flexible attitude.
Solid working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Experience in the Employee Benefits, group insurance, or group retirement industry is considered an asset but is not required.
The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, ie., discretionary draw plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at a particular time. The expected draw plus commission will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
Due to the variable nature of this sales-based compensation structure, more definitive prospective information is not possible. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity for some positions.
