FASD Mentor Position House

Join NCN Family & Community Wellness Centre Inc. as a full-time FASD Mentor in Nelson House. This role focuses on providing advocacy and emotional support for women affected by FASD and addictions.

Under the guidance of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Coordinator, you will interact directly with women who may be pregnant or parenting. This role involves assisting with action plans, fostering healthy environments, and providing ongoing emotional support through mentorship. Your ability to connect and advocate will be crucial in supporting families and reducing FASD births.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer support for creating healthy environments

• Advocate through emotional support during pregnancies

• Assist with planning for the mentorship program

• Evaluate client progress every four months

• Help clients access necessary resources and services

Requirements:

• Valid Manitoba Driver's Licence

• CPR and First Aid Certification required

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Knowledge of FASD and basic counselling skills

• Aboriginal language skills are an asset
