• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions; assist pharmacy technicians and cashiers with pharmacy systems and cash registers if PTCB certified.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members throughout the pharmacy.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
• Review and comply with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager; utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensure accuracy, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, and check interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to Company policies and procedures and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to Walgreens policy on Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription dispensing activities.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and assist customers in OTC aisles whenever possible.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including calls to physicians.
• Process and resubmit manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
• Assist in inventory management activities: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments; file claims for overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods.
• Assist with clinical services: collecting and labeling blood/urine samples, coordinating with Walgreens health clinics, and external providers.
• Maintain relationships with local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other providers through outreach and detailing.
• Assist with interior and exterior maintenance to keep the Pharmacy Department stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification; if not, earn it as a condition of promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training, complete required PPLs, and obtain continuing education credits; maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
