The Junior Configuration Technician role performs production‑level logical configurations and testing. This position follows detailed work instructions from the Engineering team to accomplish tasks, works cross‑functionally with other teams within the Supply Chain organization, and reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Configuration and testing of multiple vendor networking, wireless, telecom and collaboration devices.
  • Configuration and testing of core network storage, server technologies or general telecommunications products based on program needs.
  • Apply technical knowledge of products to ensure proper functionality and operation.
  • Assist in optimizing work instructions and further documentation.
  • Execute basic troubleshooting for defective devices, logical issues, or systematic errors across a wide range of technologies to ensure product functionality.
  • Load operating systems, licenses, and update firmware per customer requirements.
  • Configure, upgrade, and test networking and telecom equipment (routers, switches, servers, wireless, radio access network items) based on program needs.
  • Use established tools to communicate task status continuously.
  • Capture QC (Quality Check) records and perform QC checks to validate logical configuration requirements.
  • Complete physical audits of equipment and accessories.
  • Understand installation and configuration instructions with various hardware platforms and ensure accurate information capture.
  • Provide input for the continual improvement of customer production solutions.
Experience Required
  • 1–2 years of hands‑on experience with routers/switches, wireless, and servers.
  • Resolve issues by diagnosing problems, determining possible resolutions, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate discipline in planning, organizing, and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within defined time frames and standards.
  • Identify documentation needs and develop technical reference documentation in accordance with standards.
  • Communicate with clarity and precision, presenting complex information concisely and audience‑appropriate.
  • Leverage technical knowledge of products to meet customer needs, understand market segments, and stay abreast of market data trends.
  • Demonstrate a concern for accuracy and thoroughness so that sufficiently detailed information is logged correctly.
  • Execute instructions independently and on directives.
  • Read engineering drawings (network designs documents, rack elevations).
  • Knowledge of different testing hardware and software platforms.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of network infrastructure cable types and best practices.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem‑solving capabilities and prioritize effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced level of English language proficiency.
