Overview
The Reporting to the Project Director the construction manager and is responsible forthe safe and efficient delivery of all electrical construction activities on life sciences and technology projects. The role ensures construction works are executed to the highest quality standards, withinprogrammeand in line with client specifications and regulatory frameworks.
Acting as the key link between subcontractors, consultants and project leadership, the Construction Manager drives performance,coordination and compliance across the electrical scope ofworks.

Responsibilities
Site Management and Delivery
Lead and manage all site-based construction activities, ensuring safe, efficient and timely project execution across all work fronts.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and direct site labour, driving productivity, quality and adherence to programme targets.
Monitor installation progress against the project schedule, proactively identifying risks, constraints and delays, and escalating key issues with proposed mitigation strategies to project leadership.
Ensure all works are delivered in line with the project programme, contract specifications, approved drawings and applicable industry standards.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
Champion and enforce a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all site activities, ensuring compliance through visible leadership and proactive management.
Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements and project-specific standards, maintaining audit-ready documentation at all stages.
Review, challenge and approve method statements, risk assessments, ITPs and testing documentation to ensure robust quality assurance and control.
Lead and support pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover phases, including coordination of witness testing, system validation and final sign-off.
Coordination and Communication
Coordinate closely with all trades and disciplines to ensure seamless integration, effective sequencing and timely delivery of works.
Lead site coordination meetings, providing clear direction on progress, risks, priorities and mitigation actions.
Act as the primary site interface for subcontractors, client representatives and consultants, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of technical and delivery issues.
Maintain strong communication with project management, delivering accurate and structured reporting on progress, risks, resources and overall project performance.
Experience
Essential
Strong technical knowledge of construction systems and methodologies across large-scale projects, including building services, controls and life safety systems.
Proven track record managing construction delivery in a live project environment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and work fronts.
Strong organisational, problem-solving and reporting skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental compliance within the construction industry.
Desirable
Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, data centre or advanced manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with commissioning, FAT/SAT and validation processes within complex project environments.
Knowledge of integrated building systems and modern construction technologies.
Experience using digital project delivery tools (e.g. BIM, field-based applications, progress tracking systems).
Qualifications
Essential
Degree, diploma or trade qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Services or an equivalent technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar site leadership role on Tier 1 projects.
Relevant health and safety training (e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS or equivalent).
Desirable
Chartered status or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIOB or equivalent).
Postgraduate qualification in construction or project management.
Specialist training in regulated environments (e.g. GMP compliance, cleanroom standards).
