A Snapshot of Your DayImagine joining a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the Lemmer or the B reezanddijk near shore wind farm. As an Experienced Para-Professional Wind Technician, you will dive into hands‑on turbine maintenance and repair, ensuring both scheduled and unscheduled tasks are executed efficiently and safely. Your day will be filled with diagnosing and troubleshooting system‑level issues, using your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to keep the turbines running smoothly.
Safety is paramount, and you will rigorously adhere to compliance and reporting standards, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. This role is your chance to make a tangible impact in the renewable energy sector.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on wind turbines, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and engineering specifications.
- Execute mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized test equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational faults using SCADA data and on‑site investigation techniques.
- Adhere to all Environment, Health, and Safety protocols, especially when working with high‑voltage equipment.
- Complete detailed service reports and contribute to a culture of continuous safety and process improvement.
- Valid Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST) certification.
- Vocational or technical qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Proven experience in mechanical and electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics.
- Demonstrable experience as a technician in power generation, heavy machinery, or renewable energy.
- Ability to work under moderate supervision and interpret standard procedures.
