Offshore wind is characterized by lightning-fast development of technology, as well as changing market conditions and regulations. Our offshore portfolio currently consists of 6 operational wind farms. Another wind farm (HKW Ecowende) is under construction and will be completed in 2026. Further growth will come from our development of new offshore wind farms in Northwest Europe. Eneco Wind Operations Offshore (EWOO) makes an important contribution to continuous improvement based on its knowledge.

Your first priority is to take care of the electrical safety of our offshore wind farms. This includes transformers, switchgears, array cables and for the older wind farms also the export cables, high voltage substations and Wind Turbines. You act as a Nominated Person in Control of the Electrical Installations (NPCEI) in accordance with the European standard NEN-EN 50110 and the Dutch standards NEN 3140 and NEN 3840 (“installatieverantwoordelijke”).

Safe operation of the wind farms and contribute to proactive safety culture;

Electrical installations in cooperation with own personnel and external contractors;

Review and approval of work method statements, switching letters and operational procedures;

Preparing and maintaining of technical documentation;

Execution of contractor audits with a focus on electrical safety;

Ensuring that a policy for appointing persons is in place and securing that the relevant persons are appointed to their roles according to the Safe System of Work and the relevant legislation;

Managing the technical interface with TSO TenneT and other stakeholders;

Ensure inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis and investigation of incidents of all electrical equipment;

Compliance of all work activities in accordance with the Eneco electrical safe system of work.

You can quickly master new environments and situations. You have focus, attention to detail and execution power. All of this combined with great communication skills and always finding ways to operate. This allows you to achieve the intended objectives in an ever-changing environment.

Furthermore, you have:

Bachelor degree (or equivalent level of education) in electrical engineering;

Minimum of 5 years of high voltage experience as a Senior Authorized Person;

Experience with operations of HV equipment, preferably in offshore wind or HV grid;

Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing in English and Dutch;

Flexible approach to travel and working offshore;

Detailed knowledge of NEN
3840, NEN
3140 and EN50110.

We are the largest offshore wind operator in the Netherlands, which enables synergies and growth opportunities. Eneco Wind Operations Offshore (EWOO) has Operations & Maintenance hub’s in both IJmuiden (NL) and Ostend (B) from where several wind farms are being operated. EWOO consists of wind farm core teams and a central Balance of Plant team, supported by Asset analysts and specialists in the field of HSE and Ecology.

You will work with a team of electrical engineers who prepare, coordinate and supervise offshore work activities, both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You will report directly to the Head of Operations - Offshore Wind and will be nominated by the project directors of the wind farms.
