Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Vleuten

Job Description
AEROX develops and operates air purification systems for industrial applications, with a strong focus on odour control using cold‑plasma‑based technologies. To better understand and optimize plasma‑driven oxidation mechanisms, AEROX performs controlled laboratory experiments on representative odorous compounds. This internship is intended for a Master’s student in Chemical Engineering. The intern will design and carry out systematic Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) experiments to screen the effect of different process conditions on the ability of a cold plasma system to oxidize specific odorous molecules.

The work will contribute to both fundamental understanding and practical optimization of AEROX’s odour control technologies. The intern will be part of a multidisciplinary R&D team, working closely with engineers, chemists, and data scientists.

Job Requirements

A motivated MSc student in Chemical Engineering

Interest or experience in experimental laboratory work and analytical techniques

Familiarity with Python and programming to support collaboration and data handling

A structured, analytical mindset with attention to experimental reproducibility

Job Responsibilities

Design experimental matrices for plasma oxidation experiments

Perform GC–MS measurements and interpret chemical conversion pathways

Systematically vary process conditions and assess their impact on oxidation performance

Apply basic reactor and transport modeling to distinguish mass transfer and residence‑time effects from intrinsic chemical or plasma‑driven reaction effects

Collaborate with computer science interns on data processing, analysis, and visualization
