What you will do
As a  Hardware Engineer  in the Smart Tag team, you will work on the development, refinement and maintenance of our intelligent, low‑power wireless sensors. These sensors, known as Smart Tags, meticulously collect behavioural data from cows and form an essential part of our innovative automation solutions for the livestock industry. Quality and reliability are paramount.

You will work on both new developments and the optimisation and maintenance of existing products. In addition, part of your work will consist of a wide variety of tasks. You will be a key support for our production department and the Test & Measurement group. In this role, you will assist with production issues and analyse test yield. You will draw up test plans on the basis of which our own test and measurement equipment is developed.

In your role, you will be responsible for the entire Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and its administration, and you will be involved in identifying and testing alternative components to ensure product continuity.

You will become part of our R&D department, where we embrace an agile mindset. We adopt a flexible approach to respond effectively to relevant developments. This applies to both internal and external developments. Being in a state of constant change requires our employees to have a pragmatic and agile mindset.

Work on the development, optimisation and maintenance of hardware solutions for our Smart Tags in accordance with a product development process.

Analyse test results and provide support for technical issues in production.

Monitor the quality of both development processes and products, including through reviews and validation tests.

Ensure that product information and technical documentation are correctly recorded within the PLM system.

Team
As a  Hardware Engineer , you will be part of the Smart Tag team within Livestock. Outside the Smart Tag team, you will be part of the Hardware Engineers discipline group. As well as working closely together on technical matters, we value a friendly, informal atmosphere – a chat over a cup of coffee is always on the cards.
