Do you want to develop and design automation solutions for the global market? Would you like to improve the quality of automation designs and be part of “engineering for a better world”? Then this position as Automation Engineer is for you! Come and join our hardware and automation engineering team within GEA Heating and Refrigeration Solutions in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Responsibilities Design automation solutions according to applicable GEA standards, customer specifications, international and/or local regulations and directives.
Study, interpret, monitor and discuss project design and project planning.
Test the design by means of a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with both GEA commissioning engineer and, if applicable, the end customer.
Continuously improve the quality of automation design and structure by using and improving related standardization and development.
Contribute in the field of development, standardization and innovation GEA-wide.
Responsible for the functional software specification (FSS) and users’ manuals.
Check the completeness of the final project documentation in the Technical Reference Manual (TRM).
Take care of, and/or support, the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) in accordance with the site supervisor and commissioning engineer.
Advise both internal and external customers regarding the knowledge and use of automation applications.
Work collaboratively in a project team consisting of the project manager, refrigeration design engineer, refrigeration CAD engineer, hardware engineer, site supervisor, and commissioning engineer.
Work independently on projects including onsite troubleshooting.
Qualifications At least a bachelor’s degree in Automation or Mechatronics.
Knowledge of electrical engineering.
Knowledge of general safety instructions.
Knowledge of automation frameworks (preferably Siemens or Rockwell).
Ability to read P& and electrical schematics.
Experience with supporting tools such as MS Office, Excel, VBA and Power BI.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Preferably basic refrigeration knowledge.
