We are looking for an experienced engineering professional to join our team as a technical authority in transmission and gearbox design. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening core competencies and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that support business growth and strategic projects.

The preferred location for this position is Rubbestadneset in Norway.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior / Principal Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Leading and executing complex transmission and gearbox development projects

Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners (e.g. universities, engineering companies)

Developing, reviewing, and approving advanced technical solutions with a focus on performance and cost efficiency

Acting as internal technical authority for gear mesh and system-level design topics

Supporting customer solutions at drivetrain and system level, including strategic applications such as naval

Contributing to R&D planning, including scope definition, prioritization, and delivery planning

Monitoring project progress and providing clear recommendations and conclusions

Developing and maintaining engineering standards, guidelines, and knowledge repositories

Ensuring compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and industry standards

Representing the company in external technical forums and professional networks

Coaching and mentoring engineers, supporting problem-solving and decision-making across teams

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have

Strong expertise in gearbox and transmission design, particularly gear mesh

Solid understanding of system-level engineering

Experience working with suppliers and external partners

Ability to act as a technical authority and influence technical decisions

Proven experience mentoring or guiding engineers

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good communication skills and ability to work in a global environment
