Job Description & How to Apply Below
Introduction
As a Production Support Engineer Special at Royal Van Lent on the Kaag, you are the link between the drawing and the shop floor on one-off superyachts. A role for the hands‑on engineer who likes to be where the yacht is actually being built.
Function
You own a specific scope and keep it moving from engineering to a buildable result, staying close to production throughout. You:
work out detailed engineering designs, 3D models, and technical drawings for your scope;
make sure the design is feasible and can actually be manufactured and assembled on board;
keep your work within Class and Flag regulations and the project's own specifications;
spot technical bottlenecks early and come up with workable solutions;
act as the linking pin between production and engineering, translating between drawings and the shop floor;
align with senior engineers, production, and project leads so the work lands on time and at the right quality.
Organization
Royal Van Lent, part of Feadship, builds one-off superyachts at the highest level. On the Kaag, where the yard has been based since 1849, it engineers and completes superyachts of 70 to 100 metres — each one fully custom built and delivered as a single project. Building these one-off yachts is an intricate undertaking, where engineering and craftsmanship come together under uncompromising quality standards.
Requirements
What You Bring
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Maritime Technology, or a related field.
2–5 years of work experience in engineering in shipbuilding.
Working knowledge of 3D AutoCAD, and preferably Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic.
Good command of English, spoken and written.
Knowledge of shipbuilding production and the construction process, with the ability to act as the linking pin between production and drawings.
Accurate by nature, with a high standard for quality and results.
Offer
What We Offer
You are paid according to the same terms of employment as a permanent Royal Van Lent employee. As this is a placement, the client's collective labour agreement (cao) applies to you in full — equal pay is required by Dutch law (inlenersbeloning), so you earn what someone in this position at Royal Van Lent earns.
The max of this scale is 78.000 gross per year.
A technically advanced and stable working environment where you work on the most exclusive yachts in the world.
A role right in the heart of the build, where you see your engineering take physical shape.
