Job Description & How to Apply Below
Introduction
Bridge theory and practice in process safety and contribute directly to the future of one of the most challenging industrial environments in the Netherlands.
Function
Within Tata Steel's internal project organization, you are responsible for all process safety aspects of the investment projects. Your ATEX expertise (explosive atmospheres) is essential for realizing technical solutions safely. You work in a dynamic environment with challenging technical issues such as explosion hazards, fire hazards, and harmful substances.
What you will do:
Prepare and update Explosion Safety Documents (EVDs) for both existing and new installations, ensuring work is carried out safely and in compliance with regulations
Advise project teams on ATEX-related matters and act as the key contact for process safety from project start to completion
Determine which safety studies a project requires and review the delivered safety documentation
Contribute to continuous improvement, from developing the quality system for process safety to providing training and conducting audits
Help keep process safety a top priority for all stakeholders in major projects
Organization
You will work within the Projects & Engineering (P&E) department, the internal project and engineering organization of Tata Steel IJmuiden. P&E consists of several groups, each with its own specialized expertise. All projects are multidisciplinary, so you collaborate closely with different project teams, technical disciplines, and factories.
Requirements
What you bring:
A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or a comparable field
Relevant ATEX courses successfully completed
Preferably at least 5 years of experience as a process safety engineer with ATEX experience
Experience with quantitative risk analysis in an industrial environment
Experience preparing Explosion Safety Documents (EVDs)
A structured, systematic and results-oriented way of working, combined with strong communication and persuasive skills at all levels of the organization
Offer
The function and salary scales of our client — in this case Tata Steel — are decisive. We follow all primary and secondary terms of employment, so that you earn the same as an employee at Tata Steel itself.
