Role
Sustainability Engineer – In the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Hellendoorn, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the sustainability strategy, focusing on reducing total environmental impact and energy costs for the European market.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the sustainability roadmap for the Hellendoorn location in line with the Magnum Ice Cream Company objectives.
Lead projects to reduce energy, water and waste consumption across all production lines and utilities.
Monitor and report environmental KPIs such as CO₂ emissions, energy use, water use and waste streams, and drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and SHE to identify and implement cost‑saving and environmentally friendly technologies.
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and internal standards.
Engage and train employees to strengthen a sustainability culture on site.
Represent Hellendoorn in sustainability forums and share best practices within the network.
Qualifications
Completed training in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related field.
Proven experience with sustainability or utilities management in a production environment.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of energy‑efficient technologies and environmental regulations.
