Description

About the team:

At Arcavindi, our Facilities Team keeps our Netherlands sites running smoothly, safely, and efficiently every day. We look after the buildings, equipment, and working environment so our operational teams can focus on caring for customer-owned vintage items.

From maintaining storage areas and workshops to supporting office spaces and shared facilities, we’re hands‑on problem solvers who take pride in creating a site that’s reliable, compliant, and pleasant to work in. We collaborate closely with Logistics, Appraisals, and external contractors to make sure the building supports every stage of our customer journey.

About the Role

As a Facilities Operative (General Maintenance), you’ll play a key role in keeping our Netherlands buildings operational, safe, and well‑maintained. With a trade background, you’ll carry out day‑to‑day repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and small improvement projects.

You’ll respond to maintenance needs across the sites, handling common plumbing, electrical, and general building tasks yourself, and working with specialist contractors when required. This is a practical, varied, and highly visible role — ideal for someone who enjoys keeping things running, spotting issues before they escalate, and taking ownership of site standards.

Getting Started
  • Spend time learning the Arcavindi sites layout, key systems, and high‑traffic operational areas.
  • Complete training on site safety, permits to work, reporting tools, and sign‑off procedures.
  • Get familiar with planned maintenance schedules, statutory inspections, and internal service standards.
  • Build working relationships with operational teams so you understand their day‑to‑day maintenance needs.
Establishing Your Impact
  • Deliver reliable, high‑quality repairs across the building, with a clear focus on safety and compliance.
  • Handle reactive maintenance efficiently, prioritising urgent issues and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  • Carry out regular checks and preventative tasks to reduce breakdowns and disruption.
  • Keep accurate digital and/or paper records of work completed, parts used, and follow‑up actions required.
Driving Excellence
  • Proactively identify areas where the site can be improved — safer, more efficient, or more durable fixes.
  • Suggest smarter maintenance routines, tools, or materials to reduce repeat issues.
  • Support wider facilities projects such as refurbishments, re‑layouts, office moves, and new equipment installs.
  • Champion a tidy, compliant, and well‑maintained environment that reflects Arcavindi’s care for people and property.
Key Goals & Objectives
  • Deliver high‑quality, timely maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrics, and general facilities.
  • Reduce downtime by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of maintenance work and materials used.
  • Uphold Arcavindi’s health & safety standards through safe systems of work and site compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general building maintenance, including:
    • Plumbing repairs (leaks, blockages, pipework, fittings).
    • Basic electrical work (fault‑finding, replacing fittings, minor installations).
    • General repairs (doors, locks, fixtures, flooring, shelving, and site upkeep).
    • Assembly of new storage and furniture items (shelving, desks etc).
    • Installation of basic IT systems/wiring throughout the workplace.
  • Complete routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritising tasks to minimise operational disruption.
  • Work alongside external contractors for specialist or larger projects, ensuring work is safe, compliant, and signed off.
  • Maintain orderly, safe storage of tools, materials, and maintenance areas, keeping work spaces clean and secure.
  • Report hazards, near‑misses, and required follow‑up work through Arcavindi’s internal reporting systems.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment and report any tool repairs required.
  • Knowledge of health &…
