BUYING MANAGER KNITWEAR
Lead buying decisions that protect margin, quality and delivery.
Lijnden | Product | 40 hours | Full-time
At Just Brands, we build menswear brands with character. PME Legend, Cast Iron and Vanguard each have their own voice, their own audience and their own place in the market. Strong product performance starts long before it hits the shop floor. It starts with buying decisions that balance market demand, brand direction, supplier reality, margin and ESG priorities. This role sits right at that intersection, turning strategy into buying plans that actually land.
But what really sets us apart is how we work together.
We’re team first. No ego, no unnecessary layers, no endless talking, no corporate theatre. We back each other, speak up, take ownership and keep pushing for better. We work hard, stay sharp and make sure there’s room to enjoy the ride too.
That’s where you come in.
Why this role matters
As our Buying Manager Knitwear , you lead a broader buying area and coach buyers to deliver consistent execution across categories and suppliers. You translate seasonal priorities into clear plans, keep margin and intake on target, and make sure supplier execution supports quality and delivery reliability. You influence through standards, decisions and strong cross‑functional coordination, not just hierarchy. You are not here to “manage orders.”
You are here to lead buying choices that improve performance, strengthen supplier execution and protect the category outcome.
What you’ll do
Lead, coach and develop buyers, setting clear priorities and driving high performance across the team;
Translate business goals into category and sourcing strategies that deliver on customer needs, margin targets and seasonal priorities;
Lead supplier planning, negotiations and performance management, balancing cost, quality, lead time, capacity and risk;
Own category‑level financial performance, including margin, intake, budgeting and forecasting, and take corrective action where needed;
Drive end‑to‑end execution by managing the critical path, mitigating supply risks and ensuring compliance, quality and ESG standards.
What success looks like in your first year
Categories hit margin and intake targets with fewer surprises;
Supplier performance improves through clearer planning and stronger follow‑up;
Critical path discipline tightens: better on‑time delivery and less fire‑fighting;
Team capability grows: buyers operate with more ownership and stronger decision quality;
ESG and compliance expectations are embedded in supplier and category decisions, not treated as an add‑on.
What makes this role exciting
You lead buying across a broader scope with real commercial accountability;
You influence decisions that shape the assortment, margin and delivery outcome;
You work with international suppliers and cross‑functional teams across product, merchandising and design;
You get room to improve how buying operates, not just maintain it;
You help build the next level of buying maturity as the business grows internationally.
You’ll probably love this role if you…
like balancing speed, margin, quality and supply continuity in real decision moments;
enjoy coaching people and raising standards through clarity and feedback;
prefer solving issues early through planning and discipline, not last‑minute rescue work;
are commercially sharp and comfortable negotiating and making trade‑offs;
like working across functions and keeping multiple stakeholders aligned.
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related field;
Typically 8–10 years of experience in buying, sourcing or product leadership within fashion/retail;
Proven people leadership experience, including developing buyers or small teams;
Strong experience with international suppliers and cross‑functional stakeholder management;
Strong financial acumen: margin, intake, cost performance and corrective actions;
Experience with ERP/PDM systems and buying analysis tools;
Fluent English required;
Dutch or German is a strong plus;
Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
What Just Brands is really like
We’re team first. In buying, that means: we…
