Job Description

The Center for Hydrogeology and Geothermics of the University of Neuchâtel (CHYN) is advertising a position of Senior Lecturer/Research Scientist in the simulation of transport processes in porous and/or fractured media.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in earth sciences, fluid mechanics or equivalent (obtained no more than 10 years ago).
• Expertise in numerical simulation applied to flow and transport processes in porous and/or fractured media (numerical methods, multiphysics).
• Solid teaching experience.

Teaching and Research Activities

• Teaching geosciences in bachelor’s degree programs and advanced courses in master’s degree program in hydrogeology and geothermal energy.
• (Co)
  Supervising Bachelor, Master and PhD students.
• Develop research activities in collaboration with CHYN and Faculty of Science research groups in one or more of the following areas: geothermal energy, heat storage, solute transport, reactive transport, geological CO2 storage, or related topics.
• Actively participate in the life of the institute, the management of research infrastructure (particularly IT), and the development of teaching and research projects.

Starting date

01.04.2026 or to be agreed upon.
